He joined Town on a season long loan with an option to buy after he was allowed to leave for first team football by Dutch giants Ajax. Carel has been at Ajax since 2007 when he joined as a 9 year old. He has also played at all Dutch youth levels including three appearances for the Netherland U21s. Eiting has played with Barcelona's Frenkie De Jong and Juventus' Matthijs De Ligt. He made his first team debut for Ajax in October 2016. To date he has made 31 first team appearances at Ajax with 8 assists. Due to injuries he never was able to assert himself regularly in the Ajax first team. During the 2018/19, Carel made his Champions League debut against AEK Athens. He played the full 90 and provided one assist. Unfortunately for Eiting a knee and ankle injury prevented him from playing for the majority of the 18/19 season. Carel is a very versatile left footed player. Over the course of his career he has made 155 appearances for the national team, Ajax first team and youth teams. He has been predominately deployed as Defensive Midfielder but he also able to play as a Central Midfielder or Centre Back. In his 120 appearances as a Defensive Midfielder he has scored 14 goals and 27 assists. He was nicknamed 'Professor' by Ajax. At the end of his initial loan spell, Eiting returned to Ajax and joined Genk in Belgium on a four year deal. After only 6 months and 22 appearances, Carel cancelled his contract and re-signed for Town on a 6 month deal until the end of the season and he will wear the number 48 during his second spell at the club.
